Forty years of Sri Lankan journalism education
The Sri Lanka College of Journalism (SLCJ) is the island's leading centre for journalism education, media training and research.
Founded in 1985 by veteran journalists and editors, SLCJ has trained thousands of reporters, producers, photographers and communicators now working across Sri Lanka and abroad. Our faculty are practitioners first — they bring the newsroom into the classroom every single day.
In 2026 we moved our programmes onto a modern digital learning platform, making the same rigorous training available online — with live classes, recorded lectures, auto-graded quizzes and QR-verified certificates, all managed through a single portal.
